Impressive display by Royals Academy productRoyals forward Hal Robson-Kanu scored his second international goal on Monday evening during Wales' 2-1 victory over Cyprus.
Reading's number nine latched on to a clever Gareth Bale backheel in the 23rd minute, but had plenty of work to do as he bustled into the area before finishing coolly to put his country two goals in front. The 25-year-old received a standing ovation when he was replaced by debutant Jake Taylor late on at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Despite playing much of the second half with ten men and seeing Vincent Laban pull one back for the visitors, Chris Coleman's side held on for a vital three points in their quest to qualify for Euro 2016. Chris Gunter also put in an excellent shift at right back - and has now not missed a Wales game in four years!
"Hal hasn't been playing for Reading, he had medial ligament damage and probably hasn't played much more than an hour in the last six weeks," Coleman told his post match press conference. "I thought he'd give us 45 minutes or an hour max tonight but he kept going, it wasn't just what he did with the ball it was what he did without it. That was really pleasing."
