International updateHarry Cardwell and Sammi Fridjonsson kicked off the international break for our Royals youngsters on Tuesday afternoon.
Cardwell played just over 70 minutes for Scotland U19s against Finland, with a neat piece of skill contributing to one of the goals as his side raced into a 2-0 lead. However, after leaving the field the Academy striker could only watch on as two late goals snatched a draw for the visitors.
It was also an eventful day for Sammi Fridjonsson - the midfielder was on the scoresheet and bagged an assist but couldn't prevent Iceland U19s falling to a remarkable 7-3 defeat to Turkey. Reading under 18s' Sindri Scheving played 90 minutes in the same game.
There was good news for centre back Rob Dickie (pictured); the 18-year-old has received a call up to the England U19 squad for qualifiers with Belarus, Luxembourg and Belgium.
Defensive partners Sean Long, Shane Griffin and Pierce Sweeney are all involved in the Ireland U21s set up - as the Emerald Isle play Norway on Thursday afternoon.
Zak Jules and Jake Sheppard are also set to feature for Scotland U18s in a double header with the Czech Republic later this month.
