Adkins ahead of trip to Hillsborough

Manager Nigel Adkins spoke highly of the attacking players he has in the squad ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship game at Sheffield Wednesday.

Glenn Murray, Simon Cox and Nick Blackman have each scored two goals in two games, while striker Pavel Pogrebnyak is now also fit and available.

"We've got an array of goals in us," he said. "We've got several attack-minded players who are all in good form at the moment. Pav, too, looked really sharp, hungry and lively when he came on the other night.

"We're moving in the right direction, we've had two really good victories at home. We played some really good football at home to Fulham. Then in the first 25 minutes on Tuesday we were really good and then we showed great character and spirit to win the game after Millwall came back at us."

Adkins has praise for Owls head coach Stuart Gray after their positive start to the campaign and predicts a challenging fixture at Hillsbrough.

"He's done a great job since he took over. He's stabilised the football club after being in a difficult situation. They've gone on a good run, they've got their ownership issues as well but they've got massive threats throughout their team and they are playing good football and they've got off to a good start.

"We know it'll be a challenging fixture - they've done well so far but so have we, so it'll be a good game. We go up there with confidence having won four games on the spin, the spirit amongst the players is really good.
