Jem lends a hand at deaf football session

25 September 2014

Captain's Community visit

Skipper Jem Karacan recently visited a deaf friendly football coaching session at Reading University's Sports Park.

The Turkish midfielder is our Community Trust Disability Ambassador and has made a number of visits and contributions to disability schemes around the county.

Earlier this year, the 25-year-old donated a couple of pairs of signed worn boots to the Reading FC Deaf Team in an effort to raise money. The boots were auctioned and the funds were used to purchase kit for the deaf team.

At the session, Jem watched the players train before taking part in a questions and answers session, to the delight of the participants, many of whom were keen Royals fans.

Jem then topped off a fantastic evening by signing copies of ‘The Royal’ official programme for the members, as well as posing for pictures.
