Striker speaks ahead of FulhamJamie Mackie is looking forward to the next stage of Reading's 2014/15 campaign, as the Royals return from the international break raring to go.
Nigel Adkins' side has been blighted by injury so far, but a number of talented young players have filled stepped up to the plate and helped the Royals off to a creditable start to the season both in the Sky Bet Championship and Capital One Cup.
18-year-old Aaron Kuhl started in Reading's 1-0 win away at Middlesbrough at the end of August, and Mackie hailed Aaron and the rest of the young stars who contributed to the three points.
"It was a great win," Mackie reflected. "I think any win on the road in the Championship is good - you know you have to dig in. We have got a young side with a lot of talent, but sometimes in these kind of games it's about digging in, doing what's right to win a game of football - and that's what we did.
"It was a really good learning curve for the boys and a tremendous win which was essential going into the international break. I'm sure we'll get some bodies back soon as we move on in the season."
"It was a fantastic goal too - I don't think there were any better team goals in the league that afternoon. Then we've dug in really well, and that young lads have done brilliantly."
