Murray makes it five signings

1 September 2014

Cox, Mackie, Ferdinand & Norwood also in

With the deadline day arrival of striker Glenn Murray, Reading made five signings in this transfer window.

After a summer of speculation about the club's ownership, our first signing came on 7th August when Simon Cox penned a two-year contract from Nottingham Forest, and we went on to make it five arrivals in 26 days.

24 hours later after Cox we brought in another player from Forest, Jamie Mackie signing a season-long loan deal.

Next to arrive was Anton Ferdinand three days later, agreeing a two-year deal and taking the number 4 shirt.

Northern Ireland international Oliver Norwood was then purchased from Huddersfield Town on 19th August, bringing plenty of Championship experience to our midfield despite being only 23.

And then right on the transfer deadline, striker Murray made it a quintet of new arrivals and he will aim to make his debut when we face Fulham at Madejski Stadium on 13th September.
