Taylor gets full Wales call-up

1 September 2014

Major milestone for young Royal

Young Royal Jake Taylor has reached a major milestone in his career with a first call-up to the full Wales squad.

The 22-year-old has been in excellent form, and is our joint top scorer with two goals - both winners against Ipswich and Scunthorpe.

He made his full League debut on the opening day at Wigan and has gone on to start all five of our League games so far.

With so many young players stepping up to the first team, Jake has certainly made his mark and should take great pride in his Wales call-up.

He was born in Ascot, and has played for Wales right through the youth levels, captaining their under 21s.

He replaces injured Royals teammate Hal Robson-Kanu in Chris Coleman's squad for an important UEFA qualifier away to Andorra a week on Tuesday.

Jake has been in Reading's Academy since the age of 8 and is a former season ticket holder before breaking through from our youth setup.
