Loanee looking forward to fixture frenzyChelsea loanee Nathan Ake became the 193rd Reading player to play at Madejski Stadium this afternoon, starting in midfield against Cardiff City in a 1-1 draw for the Royals.
"It was a good experience for me to get ninety minutes. Unfortunately we didn't win wht game but we came away with a point," he said after his Reading debut.
"It was frustrating of course, especially with the chances we created in the second half which could have seen us kill the game and make it 2 or 3-0.
"But then to concede a goal with what was a minute left to play...we have to take today on board and know what to do next time to see the a game like that out."
Ake could be in line for a few more minutes as Reading face the prospect of their final eight games of the season within the space of just 25 days, starting with a long trip up to Blackpool on Tuesday night.
"This is what you want to do as a player, play games. I want to get the experience from first team football and learn from those experiences.
"It's only good to play so many games. I'll train well and hopefully I can play in a lot of them. It will be a long trip up to Blackpool, but I'm looking forward to it.
"I can play left back or in central defence, but I prefer to play in midfield where I was today," Ake continued. "I like to get the ball at my feet and to play, so I think that is my best position.
"And when Chelsea came to me, I took the opportunity to play a few games this month with a loan to Reading, so for me it's good.
"I am really happy to get this opportunity. It's close, not far from Chelsea and I can still live in the same home. So for me it's good to be here.
"All my teammates have made me feel at home straight away, so it's not been a big step to change clubs."
