Federici wins fans' Player of the Year award

25 April 2015

Stopper becomes fifth goalkeeper to win it

Adam Federici has been named as the Reading fans’ Player of the Season for 2014/15!

The Australian stopper picked up his award following this afternoon’s clash with Brentford at Madejski Stadium – the Royals’ final home fixture of the season.

Federici, who was shortlisted with Jamie Mackie and Michael Hector on the front of today’s programme, has made 48 starts for the Royals this season, bringing his total Reading appearances up to well over 200.

He becomes the first goalkeeper to win the club’s annual accolade since Shaka Hislop 20 years ago, and only the fifth stopper the award's 51 years to take the top spot in the supporters' vote - after Mike Dixon, Steve Death, Steve Francis and Hislop in 1994-5.

Jordan Obita won last season’s award and, below, fans can see a full list of the club’s previous winners.
