Federici wins Players' Player of the Year

30 April 2015

Karacan presents goalkeeper with award

Adam Federici was this afternoon named as Reading’s Players’ Player of the Year and was presented with his award by captain Jem Karacan at the club’s Hogwood Park Training Ground.

Karacan, Steve Clarke and the squad felt that it was important to bring the players’ player vote back to the fore and Federici becomes the club’s first recipient, adding to his Fans’ Player of the Year award.

This season, the Australian goalkeeper has made 48 starts for the Royals, taking his club appearances to well over 200, and following Saturday’s game with Brentford he became the first goalkeeper in 20 years to win the fans’ annual accolade.

Prior to handing Federici his latest award, Karacan said: “The winner of this award has been here for a long time and he’s been absolutely brilliant this season. I know we are all thankful to him. It’s been a difficult season and he’s been unbelievable for us.”
