Pogrebnyak, Chalobah and Mackie carrying knocksRoyals boss Steve Clarke has three fresh injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s final match of the season at Derby County on Saturday.
Speaking to Reading FC Player ahead of the fixture, the manager revealed that Pavel Pogrebnyak, Nathaniel Chalobah and Jamie Mackie all picked up knocks in Tuesday’s game at Rotherham United.
But he also said that Danny Williams and Hal Robson-Kanu, who both missed the trip north, could be in contention to make a return to first-team action.
“Obviously I didn’t have Hal and Danny at Rotherham and both of them have a chance of being fit for Saturday,” Clarke said. “On the negative side, though, we have picked up a few knocks.
“Jamie Mackie, Pavel and Nathaniel Chalobah are struggling for the weekend, so we’ve had a couple of bits of good news and a couple of bits of bad news.
“We’ve got two days to get everyone as fit and well as we can. Normally towards the end of the season, all the players seem to get themselves fully fit and in decent shape. I’m hopeful that I’ll have almost a fully fit squad to choose from.”
