Royals Rendezvous a roaring success

19 August 2015

Fans come in numbers for relaunch

Sunday saw the relaunch of the Royals Rendezvous at Madejski Stadium, with the Fan Zone outside the ground drawing fans in large numbers.

Royals Rendezvous, named after the popular bar at Elm Park, was a hit with supporters on the opening day, with many deciding to arrive at the ground early to enjoy a drink and the variety of activities that were taking place outside the ground.

There were three main serving huts, with food being served as well as Heineken and West Berkshire Brewery supplying alcoholic beverages.

We were also delighted to welcome ex-Royals player Mike Kearney and his wife Grace, who owned the original Royals Rendezvous, and both poured a few pints for fans on the day.

Former Royals star Dave Kitson was also at the event taking control of the microphone and interacting with eading faithful in the build up to the opening home game of the Sky Bet Championship season.

Commercial Director Adam Benson said: “We are delighted with the relaunch of the Royals Rendezvous and it was wonderful to see so many supporters soaking up the pre-match atmosphere.  We’re constantly looking for new ways to improve the matchday experience for supporters and bring the history of the club to life.  We hope the Royals Rendezvous will become a place for supporters to meet before a game, catch up and have fun at our home fixtures.”
