2015 has been eventful for Reading – and Bank Holiday Monday’s match against Brentford offers the chance to sign off the year on a high.

The Bees were there first team that the Royals vanquished in the Championship this season; 1,644 travelling supporters made the trip to West London to witness a Nick Blackman brace and Orlando Sa’s first Reading goal as the scoreline ended 3-1.

Despite Boxing Day disappointment at Molineux, Reading can aim to make it consecutive home triumphs following a win at Blackburn’s expense at our last Madejski Stadium meeting.

So make sure you join us as we aim to usher in the new year in a positive fashion.

Don’t forget that you can save £3 and avoid the matchday queues by buying before midday on matchday!

We would urge any supporters that are collecting or buying tickets on matchday at Madejski Stadium to arrive as early as possible.  We are expecting more collections than usual because of Christmas post, therefore there could be long queues.

Referee Keith Stroud will be on the whistle for this fixture – the third time this season he will have overseen a Reading game.  The first was a 2-0 home win against Middlesbrough, but by contrast the other result was less positive as Cardiff triumphed 2-0 in South Wales.  He has refereed one Brentford fixture this term – a 4-2 away win at Bristol City, in which Robins man Luke Freeman was dismissed in the first period.

On the flanks with the flags will be Ryan Atkin and Mark Russell, while Philip Gibbs will be manning the fourth official’s board.

The Royals are 5/4 home favourites according to Football League title sponsors Sky Bet, while Brentford are 9/4 and a draw is priced 23/10.

Danny Williams, who netted an incredible goal last time out at Madejski Stadium, is 7/2 to score at any time and leading scorer Nick Blackman is 9/2 to net the first goal of the game.

Thanks to our Official Pouring Rights Partner, Heineken, Royals fans can enjoy a beverage at the brand new ‘Royals Rendezvous’ before the game.  Located outside the East Stand the new area is an ideal place to catch up and enjoy a drink with fellow fans before the action kicks off!

From 1pm supporters can visit the Royals Fun Zone, just outside the North Stand, Gate 6.  Football based games will be available for young fans to put their skills to the test!  The Fun Zone will also be open at half-time for supporters to come and have fun.

And don’t forget to get your Golden Gamble ticket – the draw, sponsored by STAR, will be made at half-time.  Tickets can be purchased from designated sellers based around the stadium, for just £1.   There are two prizes up for grabs: a cash prize or an item of Reading FC merchandise, signed by the team!  All funds go to the Reading FC Community Trust.  We don’t have many sellers attending the game – so make sure you get your ticket whenever you spot an opportunity!
