Reading will travel to Huddersfield Town in the Third Round of The Emirates FA Cup this year - an away tie which has been confirmed following Monday evening’s draw from the Sport Wales National Centre at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
The tie is an exact repeat of our Third Round fixture last season, when the Royals visited West Yorkshire for the first game in what was to be an historic FA Cup run that took us all the way to Wembley!
Former Wales striker John Hartson and England women's team manager Mark Sampson were on hand to draw the balls from the proverbial hat – and that resulted in an away tie against the Terriers. The match is due to take place between Friday 8th and Monday 11th January 2016.
Hopefully the meeting with Town next month will be the very start of another FA Cup adventure to remember. Last year’s journey saw us bow out to eventual winners Arsenal at the semi-final stage at Wembley - after a run which took us to the last four for only the second time in the history of our club.
When the two teams met at the John Smith's Stadium in January 2015, a 69th minute winner from Nick Blackman was enough to see Reading through to the Fourth Round.
The two Championship sides have met already in the league this season, when they battled out an eventful 2-2 draw here at Madejski Stadium last month.
Full details of the fixture, including the precise date and time of kick-off, as well as ticket on sale dates and prices, will be announced in due course.
