Samuel agrees Gills loan extension

9 December 2015

Loan extended in the New Year

Royals forward Dominic Samuel has extended his loan spell with Gillingham until 2nd January 2016, following a bright start to his tenure at Priestfield.

The 21-year-old forward took just six minutes to make an impression on his debut, finding the net in a 3-1 victory against Bury.  In his next home game, he claimed an early assist with a smart lay-off for Bradley Dack to fire the Gills in front, en route to a 2-0 win against Rochdale.

Gillingham have a chance to go ahead of current league leaders Burton Albion on Saturday – managerless Brewers currently sit top of the pile in a concertinaed bunch, with the Gills currently lying in fourth behind Coventry and Walsall.

Samuel, who played in each of our first two fixtures this season before picking up an injury, will also be available for the Gills’ League 1 clashes with Millwall, Swindon and Colchester during the festive period.  And we wish him the best of luck for the rest of his spell at Priestfield.
