Celebrating 25 years with the Royals
Make sure you’re at Madejski Stadium on Thursday night to celebrate Sir John Madejski’s 25th year with the club.
In the manager's programme notes ahead of tomorrow's clash, Steve Clake has paid his own personal tribute to our Co-Chairman and urges fans to get down to the stadium to show their support for the man who has transformed this club from top to bottom.
"To have dedicated 25 years to this football club is incredible in itself but to have guided it through some very tough times, to have invested so much time, hard work and money into it, to achieve success the likes of which Reading fans have never seen before – Sir John deserves huge credit," it reads.
"I would also like to add my thanks to Sir John for his help and support in my short time here at Reading FC, his passion for the club and the town of Reading is amazing. 25 years at the top is a fantastic achievement and he can be very proud of the magnificent club he has built."
"We are back at home, in front of our own fans, and all we ask is that you get behind your team from the first minute to the last and play your part in getting the season back on track and giving Sir John Madejski the 25th anniversary result that he deserves."
The Co-Chairman will be leading the team out to place the ball in the centre circle before our 8pm kick-off with QPR. This is your chance to show the man, who has changed the face of Reading FC, your appreciation for what he has done for the football club.
There will be a souvenir addition of The Royal on sale with three different covers to commemorate Sir John’s tenure at Reading FC, so make sure you pick one up and check out our special feature interview with the Co-Chairman.
