Get on board with The Prince's TrustThe Prince’s Trust is offering the opportunity for unemployed young people to try their hand at football coaching through their ‘Get Started with Football’ programme.
In partnership with Reading Football Club, the Trust will be running a week of coaching activities for young people (16-25) living in the Thames Valley who are not engaged in education, employment or training.
The scheme will take place from 9th to 13th March at the Madejski Stadium’s Dome training facility, with participants learning coaching skills from professionals and being provided with the opportunity to achieve an FA Level 1 award.
The programme is entirely free with travel costs and lunch provided, while The Prince’s Trust will deliver six months of support following the week to help individuals take their next step. Interested young people must attend a half-day taster session on Thursday, 5th March to be considered for the course, with final selections made after this date.
Places will be given to those who demonstrate readiness for the programme and a commitment to work with the Trust and develop their skills towards further education, employment or training. If this programme is something that you would enjoy, of you are working with a young person who has an interest in football and/or coaching and would benefit from The Prince’s Trust’s support, we would very much like to hear from you.
