Hector back for Town clash

19 February 2015

Defender set to face Ipswich

Michael Hector should be fit to face Ipswich this weekend.

The defender missed our game against Wigan in midweek through injury, but boss Steve Clarke should have the 22-year-old back in contention.

Clarke told Reading FC Player, "I expect Michael to be fit. That will be a bonus for us because he has been in absolutely terrific form.

"He’ll need to be in that form again at the weekend because he’s got one or two good opponents against him."

Danny Guthrie has been close to making the 18-man squad in recent weeks, but Chris Gunter, Jem Karacan and Anton Ferdinand remain unavailable.

With Hector out on Tuesday, Academy defender Niall Keown was on standby for the game against Wigan on Tuesday but was not required for the final 18.

Ipswich striker and former Royal Noel Hunt came off in their last game and awaits results on an injury, while former Reading men Stephen Hunt and Jay Tabb should be available for Mick McCarthy's side.

Tickets for the game at Portman Road are on sale now - click here for details.
