Latest from the treatment roomDanny Guthrie is available for selection for this weekend's game with Derby County, after returning to training following a frustrating spell on the sidelines.
The midfielder picked up an injury shortly before the Royals' FA Cup Fourth Round win over Cardiff City, but Steve Clarke revealed he has returned to training at Hogwood Park.
“Danny Guthrie has joined back in with the group," said Clarke. "He is in the squad. He was in the squad on Tuesday night; not selected in the final 18 but in the squad, and he’s going to be in the squad again this weekend."
The manager also gave an update on the remaining first team squad members in the treatment room.
“Jem won’t be ready this week. Jem, Chris Gunter, and Anton Ferdinand are the three that are missing. Jem had a bit of a knock playing for the u21s but is progressing well. We said three weeks for Chris Gunter and it looks like that will still be the case. With Anton, I feel for the lad. He was close to a return a couple of weeks ago then picked up another little niggle. It's a very frustrating time for him. The rest of the squad it up to speed and looking forward to the game."
Derby County have confirmed that George Thorne is set for a return to action, after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee in the Rams' pre-season friendly against Zenit St Petersburg.
