24 February 2015

Yakubu handed full debut as Clarke shuffles pack

Royals boss Steve Clarke has made six changes to his starting eleven as he utilises his squad ahead of tonight's clash at Huddersfield Town.

Amid a punishing run of fixtures, Yakubu is handed his full debut as the Royals boss changes all six of his attacking players, reintroducing Garath McCleary and Jake Taylor in the wide positions.

In midfield, the Royals start with Hope Akpan, former Huddersfield man Oliver Norwood and Danny Guthrie, so Nathaniel Chalobah, Hal Robson-Kanu and Jamie Mackie all start on the bench.

The back four and goalkeeper keep their places, while Chris Gunter returns from injury to take a place as a substitute.

Huddersfield make three changes of their own, Ishmael Miller, David Edgar and Harry Bunn replacing James Vaughan, Conor Coady and Sean Scannell.

Huddersfield: Smithies, Edhgar, Hudson (c), Hogg, Butterfield, Miller, Wallace, Robinson, Smith, Bunn, Wells.
Subs: Murphy, Vaughan, Lolley, Gobern, Boyle, Wright, Majewski.

Reading: Federici, Kelly, Obita, Pearce (c), Hector, Akpan, Norwood, Guthrie, Taylor, McCleary, Yakubu.
Subs: Andersen, Gunter, Cooper, Chalobah, Mackie, Blackman, Robson-Kanu.
