Clarke and Obita relishing home backingSteve Clarke is hoping for a big atmosphere at Madejski Stadium this weekend as the Royals take on Nottingham Forest.
The Royals have not enjoyed a traditional Saturday 3pm kick off at home for over three weeks, and after admirable backing on the road, the boss is hoping to hear fans continue their support.
“You always need a good crowd behind you,” he told Reading FC Player. “It doesn’t matter whether it’s home or away, you need a crowd that you feel are supporting you and getting behind you. It’s up to us on Saturday to start the game well and if we do that I know they will create an atmosphere.”
In this weekend's programme, Captain Jem Karacan has also issued a relishing cry within his matchday notes.
"Today we’ll need our fans," writes Jem. "First and foremost, it’s up to us to get the fans going by playing good, positive football, but when it’s a tough spell in the game or if we’ve not had a great run of results, that’s when we really need to hear our supporters. It’s an amazing feeling when the whole of Madejski Stadium is screaming their support for the team, it creates such a great environment for the lads to perform in. So now is the time to back the boys and really get behind us this afternoon in search of a positive result against a very good Forest team."
Defender Jordan Obita is also hoping to give supporters something to cheer.
“The fans can be great for us. Us as players need to give a performance for fans to make an atmosphere, hopefully on Saturday we can get the right result.”
