Manager discusses January windowAs expected at this time of year, manager Steve Clarke was quizzed about the January transfer window following last Saturday's draw with Middlesbrough.
With Financial Fair Play implemented from January, the boss reinforced that the club would have to be prudent in any dealings.
"Every time I come to a press conference in January you’re going to ask me that question and my answer is going to be the same every time. If something is going to happen then you will know," said Clarke.
"Obviously if we can improve the squad in January, it doesn’t put us in breach of financial fair play, and it makes the squad better and helps the players that we have already got, then we will do it. That is the stock answer. I can’t give you any more than that. I’m looking at the market as a whole; I’m looking at everything. We don’t just bury our heads in the sand and hope that a deal crops up. We are looking and if someone becomes available who we feel can help the club then we’ll try to improve the team. If nothing comes up, then we go on as we are."
