Midfielder eyeing games after comebackJem Karacan believes that the Royals can use the FA Cup as a springboard for an improved second half of the season.
The midfielder, who made his injury comeback for the U21s at West Brom this afternoon, was an unused substitute for the third-round win at Huddersfield at the weekend.
And ahead of the draw for the fourth round, which takes place at 7.35pm this evening, he hopes that his side can take the cup performance into the Championship clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
“Cup runs can really get the club going and act as a bounce for us to go on and do really well,” he said. “In the last couple of seasons, we haven’t been doing great and then we had a good run in the cup and it rejuvenated everyone. We had a good end to those seasons.
“We’ve had a couple of good runs since I’ve been playing in the team. We’ve made the quarter finals twice and always just missed that next step with narrow defeats against Villa and Man City.
“Hopefully we can have a good run, get a draw at home and really look to go as far as we can.”
