Olly exclusive in 'The Royal'

30 January 2015

Norwood on Sir Alex, Northern Ireland and his first Royals goal!

Having bagged his first goal in Reading colours in Cardiff, Oliver Norwood spoke exclusively to 'The Royal' about that free kick and much more for this weekend's issue of the matchday programme.

The former Manchester United midfielder explained what it was like spending the first 15 years of his career at Old Trafford, learning from the cream of the crop, and also told 'The Royal' about his dreams of a European Championships place with Northern Ireland next year.

Find out who the 23-year-old's idol was as he grew up in esteemed company in the north-west and learn of his hopes for Reading this season and in the future - still only £3, you can buy your copy from our sellers dotted around the ground, the megastore, the Ticket Office or, if you can't make it to the game this weekend, you can also buy copies online at

And there is so much more in Saturday's programme - you can take the 106 challenge and try to identify players from throughout the ages in our popular quiz run in every issue, or you can try to Beat The Royals in a slightly easier tester for our younger supporters.

We feature club legend Marcus Hahnemann in our 'Away from RG2' feature, after the former Royals stopper recently announced his retirement from the game, and we also report on Robin Friday's grandchildren who were picking up no.9 shirts at the megastore over Christmas and will be matchday mascots today.

We have all the action, reaction and photos from our last four games - a win, two draws and one harsh defeat at Fulham included. Captain Jem Karacan gives his assessment on our form in 2015, while manager Steve Clarke pens his programme notes ahead of a tough fixture against Sheffield Wednesday.
