Real ale bar open this weekend

29 January 2015

West Berkshire Brewery at Madejski Stadium

Real ale fans attending this weekend's game with Sheffield Wedneday will be able to enjoy the official full debut of West Berkshire Brewery at Madejski Stadium!

Earlier this month the Royals announced a deal with the Brewery, allowing fans to enjoy locally brewed premium craft beers on a matchday.

Multi-award winning classic bitter “Good Old Boy”, a perennial favourite boasting a host of accolades, will be available from a brand new bar outside the East Stand (pictured) and in hospitality for Saturday's clash with the Owls. Please note that stock will be limited initially as the club gage exact levels of demand.

Based in Yattendon, WBB brew traditional cask ales and bottled beers. They have won more than 40 awards since they struck their first brew in 1995. Visit their website here.

Speaking a fortnight ago, STAR spokesperson Roger Titford said: “We know there was an enthusiastic response to the trial sales of Good Old Boy at the end of last season and STAR is very pleased to see the club responding to the demand and setting up this partnership.  It’s a great reason to get to the stadium early!”

For fans feeling peckish, the weekend will also see Lockey Farm sausages and pulled pork baps available in the East and West Stand, priced at £3.50. Sausages will also be available in the North Stand.
