Boss: Squad will react positivelyRoyals boss Steve Clarke says the arrival of new players at the Club is a win-win situation.
The manager is pleased to have new additions in his squad, but is also seeing a positive reaction from other players who face greater competition for places.
Jonathan Bond, Paul McShane, Stephen Quinn and Orlando Sa have all joined in the last two weeks, and Steve said, "Immediately strikers see Orlando coming in, they see a challenge.
"That's what professionals do. If another comes in, it's an even bigger challenge. What you hope is the ones you have respond, new ones pushing them, it's healthy competition and the only winner is the club."
With four deals already done, the boss would like to add more depth to his squad but will do his business as far under the radar as possible.
He commented, "We don't like to give much away, but when we like to move it's decisive."
And asked about Ali Al-Habsi, who is training with the Club, he said, "Still negotiating. I think Ali's happy to be here and we're happy to have him. Hopefully the agents and people who do the deals can get it done as quickly as possible."
