Behind the scenes insight planned for Madejski Stadium

Royals fans will be given the chance to get a unique insight behind the scenes of Reading FC on Friday 31st July when Madejski Stadium opens its doors for a FREE Open Day!

The first team will be put through their paces ahead of our home friendly against Espanyol, which takes place just one day later, and fans are invited to watch the team train on the pitch and meet some of their favourite players.

The Open Day is not ticketed and so everyone is welcome, you can simply turn up on the day and entry & parking are both free. So make sure you join us on Friday 31st July for our Open Day at Madejski Stadium! We’ve certainly got plenty happening on the day... take a look at the details below!

What Time?
Doors open from 10am and the events will run until approximately 2pm on Friday 31st July, the day before our home friendly against La Liga stars Espanyol!

You will be able to watch the first team train for about an hour on the Madejski Stadium pitch from approximately 10.30am until roughly 11.30am.

Then from approximately 1pm until 2pm, the first team players and Co-Chairman Sir John Madejski will be based at the Ticket Office to meet fans purchasing tickets, inside the Megastore and at the Royals Fun Zone, where supporters can ask for autographs and pose for photos with their heroes.

What's On?
The day will begin with the chance to watch training from the West Lower Stand (access will be via the large blue doors to the right of the Megastore).

Members of the Reading FC Community Trust will be showcasing their work at the Royals Fun Zone as representatives of the team invite fans to take part in a blindfolded penalty shootout, an exercise which intends to highlight how our Trust coaches work with visually impaired young people as part of one of their key disability projects.

Nuffield Health will be at the Royals Fun Zone to chat about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and Kingsley and Queensley will be wandring all around the Stadium, to meet fans, pose for photos and sign autographs!
