Royals back home to double training sessions

13 July 2015

Players' preparations for new season

The Royals' players will be straight back into double training sessions when they to return to Hogwood Park on Tuesday.

Steve Clarke and the squad are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to be the best they possibly can be for the new Sky Bet Championship season.

In the first days of pre-season they underwent fitness testing and double sessions, before a practice match at Hogwood when the likes of Anton Ferdinand got valuable minutes under their belts.

Then in Bangkok the team again trained twice a day, as well as playing the Thai Premier League All-Stars in the searing Thailand heat.

After two days in Koh Samui, which also included gym and pool work, the squad then trained again in Bangkok ahead of their overnight flight to London.

All this week they have double sessions, as well as another practice match, and the hard work will continue right throughout pre-season.

Our first public friendly in the UK is away against Bristol Rovers on 21st July, and then we play Swansea at Wycombe on Friday 24th.

On Monday 27th we go to Crawley, and our final showpiece friendly is at home to Espanyol on Saturday August 1st at Madejski Stadium.
