Four games at the Madejski for young RoyalsOur Under-21 squad will compete in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League Division 1 in the coming season, after securing promotion to the top-flight last season – and four of the fixtures will take place at the Madejski Stadium.
Liverpool, who were runners-up in the top tier last season, will be the first team to visit the Madejski when they arrive on Monday 24th August (7pm). Norwich City will then visit on Monday 26th October at 7pm, before a fixtures against Chelsea on Monday 7th March (7pm) and Man City on Monday 11th April (7pm).
Adams Park, home of Wycombe Wanderers, will be our home venue for five of the fixtures, including the standout tie against reigning champions Manchester United on Monday 11th January. The remaining two home games, against Sunderland and Leicester City, will take place behind closed doors at Hogwood Park.
Martin Kuhl’s Under-21s, who pipped Derby County and secured promotion with a seven-game winning run at the end of last season, will again be going toe-to-toe with some of the finest young talents on these shores in the 12-team league. The pick of the away trips for comes in September, when they will take on their Chelsea counterparts under the Stamford Bridge floodlights.
