Kanu & Gunter shine in crucial Wales win

Royals duo help to beat Belgium

Hal Robson-Kanu and Chris Gunter both played key roles as Wales earned a potentially massive win against Belgium on Friday night.

In a fantastic atmosphere at the Cardiff City Stadium, Gareth Bale scored the crucial goal to keep Chris Coleman's side in a great position in their qualifying group.

Both Robson-Kanu and Gunter were mentioned as potential man of the match candidates by many pundits, and it was a real team effort from Coleman's side.

Robson-Kanu worked tirelessly up front, and won the free kick which eventually led to Bale's goal. He also had a sharp chance to score after a ricochet but prodded inches wide.

Gunter played as one of three centre halves, and up against the likes of Eden Hazard, Christian Benteke et al, the entire Welsh defence was resolute throughout.

Coleman's men are now in a good position to qualify for a major tournament for the first time since 1958 - and will be looking to build on their success when games recommence in September.
