Leeds fixture put back 24 hours

23 June 2015

Home game to kick-off at 3pm on Sunday 16th August

Reading’s first home match of 2015/16 against Leeds United has been put back 24 hours and will now kick-off at 3pm on Sunday 16th August.

The Whites’ clash with Doncaster Rovers in round one of the Capital One Cup has been selected for live television coverage and will take place on Thursday 13th August, which would have forced them to play twice in under 48 hours.

Under Football League rules Leeds were able to request that our league fixture was put back 24 hours.

The Royals’ first home match of last season saw us meet Ipswich Town at Madejski Stadium. Jake Taylor notched the only goal of the game as the Royals ran out 1-0 winners. Click below for highlights.

We will begin 2015/16 with a trip to Birmingham City on August 8th in the Championship, before traveling to Colchester United in the Capital One Cup on the week commencing August 10th. Once confirmed, a date and kick-off time will be announced in due course.
