Royals to begin 2015/16 away at Birmingham City

17 June 2015

2015/16 fixture list announced

Reading will begin the 2015/16 Championship season with a trip to Birmingham City on the weekend of August 8th.

St Andrews, the home of Blues, was where the Royals concluded the 2011/12 campaign as the club celebrated promotion to the Premier League. Unless selected for live television coverage, the opening-day clash will kick off at 3pm.

A few days later, Steve Clarke’s side travel to Colchester United for the first round of the Capital One Cup and Leeds United will then be welcomed to Madejski Stadium in what will be our first league home match of the new campaign.

Three more fixtures follow, against Sheffield Wednesday, Milton Keynes Dons and Brentford, before the domestic schedule stops for an international break, with another break coming during the second weekend of October.

There is another international stoppage in November, which falls either side of an away trip to Cardiff City and a home fixture with Bolton Wanderers.

Boxing Day sees the Royals visit Wolves. We earned a 2-1 victory there last season thanks to goals from Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny Williams, and Molineux was also the stadium that the club visited on December 26th in the record-breaking 2005/06 season, earning a 2-0 win.

Home games against near neighbours Brentford and Bristol City come on December 28th and January 2nd respectively, and the Emirates FA Cup gets underway on the weekend of January 9th.

The Easter weekend of March 26th is occupied by another international break, with Reading beginning the final hurdle of the season away at Bolton Wanderers on April 2nd.

Our final home match of the season sees us face off with recently promoted Preston North End, and the 2015/16 league campaign will conclude with a long trip up to Blackburn Rovers.

Reading also made the journey up to Ewood Park on the final day of the 2006/07 Premier League campaign and the FA Cup final will follow two weeks after the league season ends.

Season Tickets for the new campaign are on sale and fans can secure their spots for next season by clicking the image below! Alternatively, visit Madejski Stadium’s ticket office of call the ticket office on 0118 968 1313.

Home matchday ticket prices will be confirmed by the club in due course.
