U21s' pre-season fixtures announced

3 June 2015

How the U21s will warm up for their season

Reading’s newly-promoted U21s side have had their pre-season schedule finalised, ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

Martin Kuhl and Lee Herrons’ side will begin August in Premier League Division One, after finishing as runners up to Middlesbrough this term, and they have a number of friendlies arranged to aid their preparation.

Through February, March and April, the U21s embarked an incredible seven-match winning run, keeping clean sheets in six of those games, to propel themselves into a top-two spot.

They earned victories over the likes of Boro, Derby County and an Arsenal side that contained Serge Gnabry, Abou Diaby and England international Jack Wilshere.

And they will be looking to begin the new season in equally impressive form. The U21s will visit Beaconsfield on Tuesday 14th July and, four days later, they will travel to a familiar venue in Basingstoke Town.

Games against Braintree Town and Hungerford Town both fall on 21st July, both kicking off at 7.45pm, and they will then visit Hemel Hempstead at 3pm on 25th July before taking on Maidenhead United on August 1st.
