Middlesbrough u21s 0-3 Reading u21s

Reading under 21s picked up an impressive 3-0 victory away to Middlesbrough on Friday afternoon.

A brace from Harry Cardwell and a Tariqe Fosu strike sealed the win for the Royals, against a Boro side that still sit top of the Barclays U21 Premier League North.

The game was played at Hartlepool's Victoria Park and the 'home' side were down to ten men within 11 minutes as right-back Robbie Tinkler brought down Fosu as he bore down on the Boro goal.

The visitors were ruthless in taking advantage of the extra man, as Fosu himself bundled home from close range shortly before the break.

Cardwell then showed preditaroy instincts to pounce on a rebound to double the lead, before converting from close range for his brace to seal the three points for Reading.

Middlesbrough's day only got worse as they saw red again late on, with skipper Jonny Burn receiving a second yellow card.
