Danny departs to West LondonReading Football Club can confirm that central midfielder Danny Guthrie has today put pen to paper on a loan deal with Fulham.
Guthrie, whose Reading contract it set to expire this summer, travelled to Craven Cottage this afternoon to agree loan terms with the Cottagers before the loan deadline expired at 5pm and he will now remain with Kit Symons’ side until the end of the 2014-15 season.
Reading manager Steve Clarke said, “It is very clear to all concerned that Danny’s time at Reading Football Club is coming to an end this summer. When this opportunity presented itself it was only right to allow Danny the chance to play some matches.”
Danny, who turns 27 next month, has struggled with injury during the current campaign and has made only 2(+7) league appearances for the Royals this season.
The midfielder has made a total of 54(+15) appearances in three years at Madejski Stadium, scoring five goals since arriving at the club back in June 2012.
In the last 24 hours, Royals boss Steve Clarke has added two young Premier League players to his squad in securing loan moves for Chelsea’s Nathan Ake and Crystal Palace forward Kwesi Appiah. Midfielder Jake Taylor, meanwhile, signed for Leyton Orient until the end of the season this afternoon.
