Loan watch: Tanner finds the net for AFC Wimbledon

26 March 2015

Striker off the mark

Craig Tanner was credited with the only goal of the game as AFC Wimbledon beat Portsmouth in League Two on Saturday.
It was the 20-year-old’s first strike for his loan club, with the victory moving the Dons above Pompey and into the top half of the table.

So far, Tanner has turned out 11 times for the Neal Ardley’s side and has struck up a strong relationship with powerful frontman Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The Dons travel to struggling Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

Aaron Tshibola was again a stand out performer for Hartlepool United as they lifted themselves to within one point of safety in League Two.

Saturday’s 1-0 success over Mansfield Town at Victoria Road saw Ronnie Moore’s side make it three victories in a week, with Tshibola playing 90 minutes in all three encounters.

Upon signing his loan deal, Pools were eight points adrift at the foot of the fourth tier but a win against Cambridge United on Saturday could move them out of the bottom two.
