Round up: McCleary could make Reggae Boyz return

Garath McCleary could make his return for Jamaica this evening when the Reggae Boyz face Venezuela in a friendly in Montego Bay.

The winger has not appeared for his country since recovering from a back injury, with his last cap coming in the 5-0 win over St Lucia last May.

Ryan Edwards and the Australian U23s take on Chinese Taipei on Sunday in AFC U23 Championship Qatar Qualifiers. The Olyroos beat Hong Kong 6-0 in their opening qualifying match on Friday, a game that Edwards played 90 minutes in, grabbing three assists!

Recent first-team debutant Andrija Novakovich makes the short trip to London with the USA U20s to play Tottenham Hotspurs’ U21s.

Last night, Dominic Hyam played 45 minutes as Scotland U21s picked up an impressive victory away in Hungary. The success was sealed by a double from Lawrence Shankland as the Scots came from behind to earn the friendly win. Goalkeeper Jon
was an unused substitute for the clash.

Two year groups below, Harry Cardwell played 84 minutes for Scotland U19s in their narrow 2-1 loss to Austria.

Aaron Kuhl and Rob Dickie, who this week extended his loan deal at Basingstoke Town until April 25th, both started at the bench for England U19s for their 3-2 win over Denmark.

Dickie has been on loan at the Vanarama Conference South club since December and his deal could be extended further, should they reach the end-of-season play-offs.

Tom McIntyre played two of three games as Scotland booked their place at this summer’s UEFA U17s European Championships. Axel Andresson made three appearances for Iceland U17s in qualifying as they failed to secure their place.

Sammi Fridjonsson started for Iceland U21s in their 3-0 defeat against Romania, and Sean Long and Pierce Sweeney were in reserve for Republic of Ireland for their win over Andorra.

Striker Bogdan Vastuk started for Estonia U21s in their heavy defeat to France.

Hope Akpan played all 90 minutes for Nigeria’s senior side as they went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Uganda in a rearranged friendly match.
