Team news: Five changes

10 March 2015

Gunter, Cooper, Akpan, Blackman & McCleary all start

Five changes have been made to the starting line-up after last weekend's battle royale at Valley Parade, as Steve Clarke shuffles his pack.

Alex Pearce broke his nose at Bradford, so Jake Cooper replaces him in defence, while Chris Gunter takes the captain's armband and takes the starting berth of Stephen Kelly.

Jordan Obita also misses out, while Pavel Pogrebnyak and Oliver Norwood drop to the bench - Nick Blackman starts his first game in exactly a month and could lead the line tonight, while Hope Akpan and Garath McCleary are also named in the starting eleven.

Young defender Niall Keown is drafted in as a substitute and Jake Taylor is also on the bench, which includes three strikers in Simon Cox, Pogrebnyak and Yakubu.

Brighton name former Royal Greg Halford in their side, but the man who scored Brighton's late late equaliser at the Amex on Boxing Day, Inigo Calderon, is only handed a place on the bench this evening.

Reading: Federici, Gunter (c), Chalobah, Hector, Cooper, Akpan, Williams, Robson-Kanu, McCleary, Mackie, Blackman.
Substitutes: Andersen, Keown, Norwood, Taylor, Cox, Pogrebnyak, Yakubu.

Brighton: Stockdale, Halford, Greer (c), Dunk, Bennett, Ince, Forster-Caskey, Kayal, Ledesma, LuaLua, O'Grady.

Substitutes: Ankergren, Bruno, Hughes, Calderon, Holla, Teixeira, Best.
