The Velociraptor explained!

4 March 2015

Mackie lifts the lid on Bolton celebration

Jamie Mackie’s 93rd minute goal at Bolton was followed by a somewhat bizarre celebration, which left onlookers scratching their heads... until the forward revealed all in his post-match chat with the press!

“That’s meant to be a velociraptor can you believe!” the 29-year old explained at the Macron Stadium. “I used to do it in the playground as a kid…I have extremely long legs and a strange shaped body so they used to say I looked like a velociraptor! I haven’t grown up myself actually so now I chase the kids around with it! Scoring a goal is an amazing feeling and instead of doing the old moody one, I enjoy them. It gets a bit of stick from the boys but that gets a bit of camaraderie going. It’s a good dressing room!”

It’s not the first time Jamie has kept supporters entertained after finding the net, after he exhibited some fine dance moves during the 1-0 win over Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

“I am really enjoying my time here and enjoying football like I always do. I love playing football and to get a couple of starts is brilliant, so, I’m ready for whatever I have to do and really enjoying it.”
