Midfielder played every minute of April's 100% record

Reading’s Aaron Kuhl has been nominated for the U21s Premier League Player of the Month Award for April.

The 19-year-old played every minute of the 21s’ four matches as they ended April with a 100 percent record and having not conceded a goal.

The quad of wins added to back-to-back victories at the end of March and a 1-0 success over Aston Villa on May 1st saw the U21s make it seven three-point hauls in a row, ensuring them of promotion earlier this week.

March began with a clash against Brighton and Hove Albion, which the Royals won 1-0, before they travelled to the Emirates to take on Arsenal.

The Gunners’ team contained Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Serge Gnabry that night but Kuhl and midfielder partners Conor Shaughnessy and Liam Kelly put in an almightily, gritty performance that saw Reading edge it 1-0.

Next up, they visited then-second-placed Derby where a solitary goal from Andrija Novakovich saw the U21s record all three points. Again, captain Kuhl played an important role as Reading absorbed waves of Rams pressure.

Reading signed off April with a thumping win over Stoke City. Deployed in his regular central-midfield berth, Kuhl kick-started a number of attacks as we romped to a 3-0 victory at Madejski Stadium.

Kuhl faces competition from Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, Reece Hall-Johnson of Norwich City, Sunderland striker Duncan Watmore and Manchester City’s Olivier Ntcham.
