Play-off semi final second leg awaits Moore and Dickie

1 May 2015

Duo in action tomorrow, 3pm

Basingstoke loanees Stuart Moore and Rob Dickie could both be 90 minutes away from the Conference South Play-Off final.

‘Stoke take on Whitehawk in the second leg of their semi-final at the Soccer AM Stadium tomorrow afternoon. The duo both completed 90 minutes of the first leg, which finished 1-1 on Wednesday evening.

Basingstoke’s assistant manager is current Reading academy coach and former playing legend Michael Gilkes, and Chris Flood put them in front after 11 minutes of the first leg with a poacher’s finish before Jake Robinson equalised for Whitehawk just after half time.

Last month, Moore was named as Basingstoke’s fans’ Player of the Season, with manager Jason Bristow describing him as “the best goalkeeper in the division.”

The young stopper has turned out 47 times for the Dragons this term and academy team-mate Dickie has made 23 appearances, scoring one goal, since joining them in January.

The first leg of the other semi-final saw Boreham Wood beat Havant & Waterlooville 2-0 and, if Boreham Wood were to progress, they would host Basingstoke or Whitehawk at their home stadium, due to their higher league placing.

Both second legs kick-off at 3pm.
