Midfielder missing ahead of this weekend
Royals boss Steve Clarke confirmed that an injury sustained by Aaron Tshibola at Fulham could keep him out of selection contention for a period of time.
Numbers have been slowly returning to the group in recent weeks after injuries – Anton Ferdinand, Jonathan Bond and Matej Vydra have all returned to full training after spells on the sidelines. But the gaffer conceded that midfield man Tshibola will be absent for the immediate future.
“The squad is okay, we’ve got Anton back last week but he didn’t play,” Clarke said ahead of the Brighton fixture. “The only negative for us, and it is quite a big negative, is that Aaron Tshibola has picked up a nasty ankle injury in the closing stages of Fulham.
“Until we get the final report from the specialist we’re not too sure how long he’ll be out for but it looks like quite a substantial injury.”
Hopefully we’ll be able to welcome Tish back to action in the blue and white hoops in the not-too-distant future and wish our midfield man a swift recovery.
We’re aiming to become the first team to overcome Brighton in the Championship this season when we meet at Madejski Stadium on Saturday – tickets are on sale now for the 3pm kick-off, and you can save £3 by buying in advance – click here for details.
