Three Royals youth loan updatesRoyals Under-21 defender Sean Long has today joined Luton Town on a one-month youth loan.
Irishman Long, who played twice for his country in their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers over the international weekend, could debut for the Hatters in their Sky Bet League 2 trip to Crawley Town tomorrow.
John Still’s men have five league fixtures during the course of Long’s loan, including a home tie against current league leaders Plymouth Argyle. Long has a single competitive first-team appearance under his belt for the Royals, featuring from the bench at Scunthorpe in last year’s League Cup tie.
Meanwhile, Reading youngster Noor Husin has also moved on a one-month loan to Hemel Hempstead Town. Husin, who came off the bench to help the Royals’ Under-21s secure a 3-3 draw against Chelsea last month, will travel with the squad to Dartford tomorrow where he could make his National League South debut.
Finally, defender Rob Dickie has had his loan at Cheltenham Town extended for a further month. The centre-half, who scored an 89th-minute match-winning goal on his debut for the Robins in August, has established himself in the Gloucestershire side’s defensive ranks and has helped the club climb to second in the National League table.
