The skipper’s notes: Brighton & Hove Albion

30 October 2015

A preview of Paul McShane’s programme column

On Saturday we welcome table-topping Brighton & Hove Albion and their supporters to Madejski Stadium for our Championship fixture.  Our captain Paul McShane, who played for the Seagulls a decade ago, looks ahead to the game in his captain’s column in ‘The Royal’, our matchday programme.

He writes: “It's good to have a game like this come around quickly after the disappointment agaisnt Fulham and we're ready to put last weekend behind us and move forward.  Brighton are a solid team and they haven't lost a game yet, so it'll be a great test for us.  I know they will be bringing a good number of fans up here, so hopefully we're set for a good atmosphere.

“I think the noise in the stadium has been good in the last few games; I think our fans are appreciating the team ethos, the ability of the players they are watching, the goals that we are scoring, the full package.  It's still early doors but our supporters are sensing we've got a chance this season.  We remain focussed on trying to get as many results as possible and as many points on the board as we can.”

Pick up a copy of ‘The Royal’ around the ground for £3 and read the skipper’s full programme notes.  It’s also full of loads of information about visitors Brighton and an extended interview with Royals forward Nick Blackman.

Don’t forget that you can save £3 compared to matchday prices by buying early – book your ticket before midday on matchday to make great savings!  Click here for more information.
