Two Royals in the running for PFA Player of the Month

3 October 2015

Striking duo Blackman and Sa in contention for September prize

September 2015 has been productive for the Royals – 22 players have contributed in competitive action during a month where we recorded wins over Ipswich, Bristol City and Burnley to climb to third in the Sky Bet Championship table.

It has taken every member of the team to help us achieve these feats.  And two Reading players have had their contributions noted and have been named in the 12-man shortlist for PFA Championship Player of the Month.

Forward Nick Blackman has continued his goalscoring form – four goals in five games this month has taken his tally to eight for the season, and he also claimed a couple of assists as well.

And striker Orlando Sa netted a terrific hat-trick in a Friday-night fixture as we dispatched Ipswich 5-1 at Madejski Stadium live on Sky Sports, securing an excellent three points.

Both players are in the running for the monthly gong – if you want to show your backing for either Nick or Orlando, click here to go to the PFA’s voting page on skysports.com and register your vote.

We're aiming to make Octoer a sucessful month too - and it all starts when we host Middlesbrough at Madejski Stadium on Saturday 3rd October.  Tickets from £25 Adults, £15 for ages 65 & Over, £10 for ages 18-24 and £7 for ages 7 & Under - plus we have Family Tickets on offer too.  Click here for more information and how to buy.
