On to the next for Royals forwardAfter netting a hat-trick for Reading against Ipswich on Friday evening, Royals forward Orlando Sa admitted that his attention would be quickly switching to the next challenge against Derby County.
Paul Clement brings his Rams side to Madejski Stadium for another fixture under the lights in Berkshire on Tuesday, and Sa is not dwelling on the last fixture and is instead already looking ahead to the next chance to build his goal-tally.
“This league is tough – you need to be fit and to recover fast,” Sa explained. “I will enjoy the hat-trick for the evening, but the next day I will be thinking about the next game.
“Against Ipswich we played well for 90 minutes. Now we keep working to play like this for most of the games this season.”
After opening his account against Brentford before the international break, Orlando took his tally to four for the campaign against the Tractor Boys – briefly joint-leading the goalscoring charts in the Championship alongside teammate Nick Blackman.
“Strikers need the goals – but they can only score goals if there is good assistance,” he said. “Against Ipswich I had great assistance from my teammates so I want to say thank you to them.
“In this league strikers don’t have a lot of chances. When you have two chances, you need to score a minimum of one goal – I know this and I am trying hard in the week with my teammates because we know we need to be fit and focused.”
