Skipper relishing Championship ‘dogfight’

29 September 2015

McShane keen to get the right result against Boro

Ahead of our next fixture at Madejski Stadium – which comes at 3pm on Saturday against Middlesbrough – club captain Paul McShane is looking forward to another battle against one of the division’s front-runners.

The Royals claimed all three points at Turf Moor to leapfrog Burnley and climb to third on Saturday.  And the skipper is looking forward to a clear week of preparation ahead of a meeting with a Boro side that have won each of their last seven games in all competitions.

“It is going to be a tough test this weekend,” McShane said.  “Burnley were a good side on Saturday and it was good to get the result, so we’ll be looking to get another good result against Middlesbrough.

“There are some good sides and good clubs in this league, and I think everyone thinks that they’re going to get promoted.  It really is a dogfight.  At least this time we have got a week to prepare, as there have been a lot of midweek games.

“Training has been very good.  The manager has got everything nailed on and he studies team and what they do, so we work on that all week, and we’ll be prepared and ready to go into the game on Saturday at Madejski Stadium.”
