Royals manager prepared for Satuday's clash in West London...Reading boss, Brian McDermott, has been preparing for the Royals' trip to Loftus Road this weekend as the Royals look to turnaround their recent run of results.
“I’ve watched QPR a few times and they are a team I know well, I know Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink well,” said McDermott. “He’s a good guy and I’m expecting a test this weekend.
“He’s in a similar sort of situation there as we’re in here," admitted the gaffer. “
He’s building a team for next season and wants them to be competitive so we’re in a similar sort of scenario.”
The Royals have sold a large number of away tickets for Saturday's clash in West London, with the club expected to take over 1,500 travelling supporters. The Reading manager believes this could play a big part in the outcome of the meeting with Rangers and that the Royals faithful will make it a special atmosphere at Loftus Road.
“We want to make sure we give our fans a really good show on Saturday,” said McDermott. “It’s always a good atmosphere there and we definitely bring a good atmosphere with our supporters turning up in large numbers.
“We know QPR had a difficult result in midweek, nobody wants to lose 4-0 but that is none of my business and we want to go there and get a result.
“We’ve had some difficult results in the last couple of weeks, the team are playing well, working well, working hard,” McDermott continued. “The games could have gone either way and they’ve gone against us so we need to make sure we get on the right side of these fine margins.
“We need to be ruthless and get the job done, we need to make sure we get the details right. The small details have cost us in recent weeks and we want to get those right to start winning again.”
