Our matchday Ball Person team head to Hogwood...

26 April 2016

Reading Ball Person's Team visited the training ground as a thankyou...

We were delighted to welcome our matchday Ball-Person Team to our Hogwood Park training facility recently - as a thank you from the club and the players for all their hard work this season!

The team have been turning out at our home fixtures for every game, helping to keep the game flowing as quickly as possible come rain or shine, win or lose!

Whenever a clearance is blasted into touch or a shot went wayward, the team have been on hand to make sure that our supporters see as much football in those 90 minutes as possible.

The group watched the Royals go through an intense training session, before meeting with the players for a chat and a signing session.  They also grabbed a few photos and selfies with the Reading players, as the squad thanked the ball team for all their hard work over the course of 2015/16.

The Ball Person team also took part in a penalty shoot-out with some of the Royals' young goalkeepers to test their ability from 12 yards.  Royals goalkeeper coach Dave Beasant organised the shootout for them - and he was on hand to give some advice... he has plenty of experience of saving spot kicks, such as that FA Cup final penalty save against Liverpool!

After putting the young Reading keepers through their paces in what was a very enjoyable morning at Hogwood, the Ball Person team headed home with an assortment of signed goodies and memorabilia from their trip to the training ground.
