Pick up a commemorative 106-page edition of ‘The Royal’!

28 April 2016

Special edition programme on sale this Saturday

2005/06 was a season of landmarks, and we have been ticking off a list of ‘a decade since…’ throughout our current campaign!

We’ve paid tribute to that moment when our draw with Leicester sealed our first ever promotion to England’s top table of football, and that moment when a 5-0 drubbing of Derby ensured the silverware would make its way to Berkshire.

And to mark a decade since our historic points total was sealed on the final day – as Graeme Murty smashed in a penalty to seal a 2-1 win against QPR – we’re releasing a commemorative 106-page matchday programme!

Our game this weekend against Preston falls precisely ten years to the day since that dramatic final day of the season when history was made – and our bumper issue of ‘The Royal’ will cover all bases from that famous day!

As well as photo features from our last-day win against Rangers (and the bus tour through the town!), ‘The Royal’ also covers the past ten seasons of failed attempts by other clubs from the Football League’s three divisions to match our record tally.

You won’t want to miss this bumper issue!  And we’ve also got tonnes of other great features as well – we give the low-down on the visiting Preston team as well as a run-down of the three front-runners in your Player of the Season voting, notes written by the skipper, the manager and our supporters’ trust STAR, and much more.

‘The Royal’ will be on sale in and around the ground for the usual price of £3, so make sure you don’t miss out on this commemorative edition.  And take another look on on Friday for more information on how else we’re celebrating one of our proudest days, 10 years ago…
